The Hunter in the Moon The_Moon_by_Kohaku_Bakura

Hunters of Artemis are to swear off men. They must be willing to protect mortals, and willing to track a monster for days if necessary. Can you imagine such a fate?

[color:71d4=dark blue]Rain is one of the oldest Hunters of Artemis there is. She was stationed in a remote forest years ago by Artemis, as a sort of gift for her hundreds of years of service.
Civilization has been cutting down on the surrounding woods, and now Rain's forest, with it's huge rocky lake, is trapped between cities.

One day, a kid decides to walk through the forest, just to prove to his friends he isn't afraid. The forest is stocked with monsters for Rain to hunt, and one of the Lycans attacks the kid.
Rain quickly intervenes, killing the monster.
The kid just needed one glance to become infatuated with the immortal huntress.

So basically...that's the plot.

Sure ^-^

Jason was done. He was done with being called a girl by his peers. He was done with being treated like a fragile piece of china by his parents. He was done with looking in the mirror and seeing a frightened little kid. He was done. He knew that the only way to prove to everyone, especially himself, that he was strong ws to venture into the forest. That's where he was now, staring into the misty, eerie forest with watery eyes. "What's the matter Jones?" taunted one of his peers, many of whom had come to watch. "You gonna cry?" Jason shook his head, blamming the wind, and without a single look back walking right in.

Rain sat by the hidden lake, watching a couple of deer contentedly. Her white hair was braided down her back, for ease. A silver quiver of arrows was over her shoulder, and her ivory bow sat on a rock beside her.
She had stopped for a break after chasing the Cadmean vixen. The rascal never stood still, and no one had caught it before. Which is exactly why Rain was intent on catching it.
She heard the howling of a lycan in the distance..

Only when he was out of sight of the enterance did Jason let his tears fall. The truth was he'd had nightmares of the forest when he was little, and they'd frightened him even in the waking world. Hearing a howl off in the distance, he stopped and turned. It was then he heard another, behind him, a bit closer. This made his breath quicken, and pretty soon he was having trouble breathing right. Which was a problem, as the howling was getting closer.

Rain heard the howling, and sensed a mortal presence in the forest. That was odd, as no one was brave enough to enter the forest on most days. Occasionally a hiker would brave the dense forests...
A nymph appeared, her brown curls bouncing as she walked toward Rain, eyes wide "There's a kid in the forest!"
Rain blinked, stunned. A kid?

It wasn't long before he was running. Running as far and as fast as he could from whatever it was that was chasing him. Which wasn't very far nor very fast, as he barely spent much time out of bed. He could hear the breathing of the animal, now. It was heavy, and almost drowned out the sound of it's feet hitting the ground. It was getting closer. He could feel a warm, moist something hit the back of it's neck. It was right behind him, he had to run faster.
In what felt like less than a second he was face first in the mud, his shirt ripped and arm stinging. He knew this would be a major set back in his recovery, if he even survived this. He rolled over, looking up at the monstrous thing that loomed over him. It reared back, catching what little sunlight made it through the thick canopy of leaves, and prepared to strike again.

An arrow shot through the beast, aiming to kill. A sleek figure was perched on a high branch, dressed all in white, bow drawn, another arrow knocked and waiting to fire if necessary.

The beast staggered, an arrow in its neck. Though it had but seconds to live, it made for another grab at Jason. It didn't even come close. The beast fell on its side, no longer blocking Jason's view of his savior. He looked up, eyes wide and face dirty, to see the most beautiful thing ever to walk the earth. It was probably his tired mind or his watery eyes, but he swore he could see a glow about her.
